I was browsing through McCalls and Simplicity pattern books looking in vain for Halloween costumes my kids might wear (nothing like the last minute) but I kept getting distracted by potential future threadbared models -- so much fodder for ridicule. . . I may never be allowed back at JoAnn's after this laughing-insanely-at-pattern-books incident. This site has ruined me. I'm a teacher, and I have to say...it is SOOOO easy to give into the temptation of denim jumpers with things embroidered on them, like apples, rulers, and books. And the desire to wear hush puppies and lisle stockings can be overwhelming sometimes. And half-glasses that sit on the end of your nose.
